The Stop Buruli Initiative welcomes a new member in Benin |

Dr Ghislain Sopoh is a new scientific consortium member for Benin in the Stop Buruli Initiative. A medical doctor with public health training, Dr. Sopoh is currently the director of the 90-bed Buruli hospital located in Allada about 50 km north of Cotonou. He has published in international journals such as Emerging Infectious Diseases and PLoS NTD. Dr Sopoh follows Dr. Christian Johnson, former Coordinator of the National Leprosy and Buruli Ulcer Control Programme in Benin, who has joined Raoul Follerau Foundation as Medical Consultant. In his new role, Dr. Johnson's will advise 10 endemic African countries on Buruli and leprosy surveillance, treatment and patient care. With his vast expertise, he will continue to serve the Stop Buruli Consortium as an external consultant.
